Internships at Maayra
Gain hands-on experience in mental health practice, and psychological interventions while being mentored by experienced professionals.
At Maayra Emotional Wellness Centre, we believe that learning therapy is not just about observing sessions — it is about developing the skills, sensitivity, and mindset required to hold space for another human being.
Our internship is designed to be experiential, reflective, and skill-focused, helping students move beyond textbook knowledge.
Interns actively participate in mock therapy sessions, structured role plays, and case discussions that simulate real therapeutic situations. This allows them to practice therapeutic communication in a safe learning environment.
The internship focuses on developing core therapist skills such as active listening, empathy, emotional attunement, and thoughtful questioning.
Through guided discussions and supervision, interns learn how therapists think, reflect, and conceptualize emotional difficulties rather than simply memorizing techniques.
Maintaining strict client confidentiality and ethical standards is a core value at Maayra. The internship introduces students to ethical decision-making in mental health settings.
Interns receive guidance from experienced therapists and are encouraged to engage in reflection and self-awareness, which are essential aspects of becoming an effective mental health professional.
Interns may also participate in wellness camps, workshops, psychological assessments, content creation and mental health projects, gaining insight into outreach and program development in a mental health setting.
